Ecosystem management

Adopting the BlockChain to manage its ecosystem is to take a decisive advantage in controlling its future in terms of savings and the development of new services.

BlockChain: data ubiquity and integrity

Media presents BlockChain as a revolution but in fact has the revolution really started and how should the revolution start?

When we hear about BlockChain, many think crypto-currencies in a reductive way whereas these are only one use case of BlockChain.

Indeed, BlockChain is above all the combination of data ubiquity and integrity.

Management of business ecosystems

But there is an obvious area where these two properties, ubiquity and integrity, are needed: it is the management of ecosystems. This concerns more or less all modern companies that already operate in an ecosystem, whereas in the past they operated in an integrated way.

But the plague of ecosystems are reconciliations, reconciliations between ordered service / product and actually delivered service / product. Reconciliations are very expensive in terms of management costs and also prevents agile development of business ecosystems.

Since BlockChain allows the ubiquity of data, it de facto removes the need for any form of reconciliation in an ecosystem. In addition, the BlockChain allows to monetize the services in a sophisticated way, which opens the field of possibilities in terms of development of company product portfolio.

How to start? “Market” Ecosystems or “Local” ecosystems?

The simplest is to target "downward" ecosystems of descending type, targeting suppliers (rather than clients). In a downward ecosystem a client can immediately offer his BlockChain to his suppliers. On the contrary, setting up a "Market” BlockChain requires a prior consensus of all stakeholders in the concerned sector. To choose a "Market" ecosystem is to take the risk of seeing the emergence of a competitor which has developed a de facto ecosystem by analogy with the emergence of digital platforms.

Three phases Deployment: 1. Elimination of reconciliation 2. Monetization of services 3. Becoming a “Market” BlockChain

To "onboard" the ecosystem, it is wise to deal with the elimination of reconciliation first by deploying a "Local BlockChain". Savings resulting of the elimination of reconciliation will fund the implementation and deployment of the company's BlockChain in its ecosystem.

Once the ecosystem is loyal, the company can then monetize its services and possibly become a de facto “Market" BlockChain which will give it a massive competitive advantage over its competitors.
